Our Mission
"The Friends of Sky Meadows (FOSK) is to act as a citizens support organization in assisting to identify and promote activities to conserve, enhance and interpret the natural, scenic, historic, and cultural resources of Sky Meadows State Park, and to promote recreational and educational opportunities consistent with good stewardship of these lands, water, and facilities that leaves them unimpaired for future generations."
HISTORY
-Enhance the Mount Bleak House through on-going projects such as period curtains and furnishings.
-Aids with history programming.
-Creates new partnerships to preserve historic trades & crafts.
NATURE
-Assists with grants to enchance the parks on-going trail maintence.
-Boosts park's pollinator plot program.
-Manages the park's apiary (bee hives).
AGRICULTURE
-Coordinates weekly farmer's market (April-September).
-Maintains historic area vegetable garden.
-Assits with the park's flock of Barred Plymouth Rock chickens.
RECREATION
-Plans annual Crooked Run Wine Festival.
-Assists park as vendor during special events.
-Advocates for State Parks thorugh various legislative bills.
